I kept looking at the 'Flawsome Top' by Pattern Emporium and wasn't sure if too much flesh would be on show or that maybe I was too big or too old to carry it off but I thought what the heck I am going to give it a go! I realised that I was in control of how much flesh was on show because I was the one making it!!
I have sewn it up in a red polka dot Viscose Jersey that I purchased from an Etsy & Ebay seller called Textile 9 Fabrics. I had previously bought Scuba and French Terry off them for a very reasonable price and I had been reasonably pleased with what I got for the price so I thought would try the viscose jersey. I am not always a fan of viscose jersey and I have had some really thin fabrics even from the higher price end but this was okay and seemed to have a bit more body to it at least.
Sewing the top was straightforward and instructions were pretty good, I graded between a size 16 and 18 for a comfortable fit. The pattern will get used again and there is an option to make a dress as well.
